| Have your say on future for liver services Letter from the Chief Executive of the British Liver Trust 6th May 2008 |
| I would like to ask your help at
a really crucial time for everyone affected by liver disease. The
Government has conducted a review of liver disease, who is affected
and how they are treated. There is now an opportunity for the Government
to take action to ensure that people across the country benefit from
improved prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
However, liver disease has always been in the shadows, suffering stigma, and low levels of public awareness. There is a real risk that the Government will think that tackling liver problems is too hard and not a political priority. We need your help in raising awareness amongst the
political decision makers. We need you to tell them what it is like
to live with liver disease and what currently happens to people
when they are diagnosed, treated and cared for for their liver problems.
Most importantly, we want them to hear from you what should happen
